Equipment is quoted on site after a free walkthrough, and you own it. Most national brands charge $45–$90/month on 36–60 month agreements.
What does the $24.99 plan add?
Video. The $24.99/month plan adds video analytics and cloud recording on top of professional monitoring, so your cameras record to the cloud and the system can tell a person from a passing car. If you do not want video, monitoring stays at $19.99/month. Either way, there is no required contract.
Do I need an alarm permit in Austin?
Yes. The City of Austin requires an alarm permit for every monitored system, and it has to be approved before the alarm is switched on. We handle the registration for you — see our Austin alarm permit guide. If your address is outside the city limits, confirm the rules with Travis County or Williamson County, whichever you are in.

Do I own my equipment, or am I renting it?
You own it. The panel, cameras, sensors and doorbell are yours once you have paid for them. If you ever leave, you keep your gear. That is why our monthly rate can be $19.99 — the hardware is not financed inside it for the next five years.
Where is your monitoring done, and who responds when my alarm goes off?
Straight answer: Alamo is headquartered in San Antonio, and your system is monitored and serviced from there — in Texas, never out of state and never overseas. When your alarm trips, a real person responds and calls you. Service in Austin is handled by Alamo technicians, not subcontractors.
Do you install security cameras and video doorbells in Austin?
Yes — video doorbells, outdoor and indoor cameras, and continuous recording, all running through the same panel and the same Alarm.com app as your alarm. Monitoring with video analytics and cloud recording is $24.99/month. Cameras are quoted on site, because placement and count drive the price, not megapixels.
Can you take over the system the builder installed?
